North Plains cannot plan for anything until it knows exactly where it stands. That means a full, public accounting of the city's obligations, a budget residents can read without a translator, and reserves that get rebuilt instead of raided.
Growth is not the enemy — growth decided without the people who live here is. We will put major decisions in front of the community early, in plain language, and at hours working families can actually attend.
Ordinances and concept plans written years ago still authorize expansion far beyond what this community has agreed to. We will bring those back to the Council, review them in public, and repeal what no longer reflects the will of North Plains.
Residents should not have to drive to Hillsboro for a gallon of milk. We will work with the community to identify a site and actively recruit a full grocer — with residents at the table, not reading about it afterward.
The Glencoe Opportunity Area is the city's best shot at real, tax-generating investment. Cleaning it up and getting it shovel-ready is how North Plains grows its revenue without growing its footprint.
Safe routes for people on bikes and modern charging infrastructure are basic amenities in 2026. They make the city safer to move through and more attractive to the visitors and businesses we want to keep.
People moved here for a reason. Investment in the streetscape, the parks, and the downtown should make North Plains more like itself — not like everywhere else.
